Polymorphic — A diary of work part #2
2010 until 2020
For as long as I can remember I (Sjoerd Koopmans, founder Rich Dust) have been fascinated by: Sport — The focus & hard work, the elegance of using and treating your body well. Biology — Wonderful life on this planet. Macro & micro. Gastronomy — All these tasteful experiences. Architecture — Complex structures and the space in between, in which people live, work, move & interact. Social care — Enrichment by being there for others. As a teenager it was a great challenge to pursue one single profession. Why not find something that combines all interests? In which I can be a top athlete one day, and a biologist, architect, chef or doctor the next. Call it: Polymporphic.
Applied art & design gives me that opportunity. Entering a new world with the start of every single project, small or big. In order to understand that world fully, I will have to become it. Like the Chameleon, — master of empathizing by creating a visual identity that connects with its surroundings — I will listen, analyse and sketch in order to come up with an original design solution that exclusively suits you and your brand environment.
This book is the visual outcome of all opportunities that people gave me from 2010 until 2020. A Work Diary of a decade.
Polymorphic — Navigate through time and work
Book navigation
You can read this book in two ways: 1. Content oriented — Use the index pages to navigate through all projects. They are marked as: • brand, • spatial, • product & • service -design. 2. Image oriented — The book contains more images than text. Browse through and stop whenever your eye is caught by something you find interesting. The projects shown in the book are not only the result of hard work but they are also a tribute to former employers and everyone I had the chance to work with during that time.
The work is listed in chronological order — small personal design projects alternate with large-scale brand projects
Forever developing
The work in this book is listed in chronological order. I try to get the most out of every project. Small or big. Nevertheless, I hope the reader / viewer will recognize my quest to keep increasing the quality, complexity and innovativeness
of the designs over the years.
